1. Summary
Domain Monitor is designed as a local-first domain and network-management utility. It does not display advertising, sell personal information, or use third-party advertising trackers. Most app data is stored locally on your device. When you enable iCloud Sync, eligible app data is also stored in your private iCloud CloudKit database so it can synchronize between devices signed in to the same iCloud account.
2. Information Stored Locally
Domain Monitor may store the following information on your device:
- Domains, folders, subfolders, and domain-to-folder assignments.
- Registrar, registration status, expiration date, nameserver, and RDAP results.
- DNS records and saved DNS lookup history.
- SPF, DMARC, DKIM, SSL/TLS, WHOIS/RDAP, website-status, and subdomain results.
- App preferences, appearance settings, and the domain selected for free access.
- Subscription entitlement status supplied through Apple StoreKit.
Local information remains on your device until you delete it, clear applicable history, reset the app's data, or remove the app and its associated local files.
3. Optional iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is optional. When enabled, Domain Monitor uses Apple's CloudKit service and the private database associated with your signed-in iCloud account. This allows supported data to appear on other devices using the same iCloud account and the same Domain Monitor app.
Information eligible for iCloud synchronization includes:
- Domains and saved lookup results.
- Folders, subfolders, and domain assignments.
- DNS history and DNS-history preferences.
- The domain selected for free access.
Subscription transactions, full payment information, selected rows, open windows, temporary loading states, and in-progress lookups are not synchronized through Domain Monitor.
iCloud data is handled under Apple's privacy and iCloud terms. It may count against your iCloud storage quota. Disabling iCloud Sync stops future synchronization on that device, but it does not automatically remove information already stored in your private iCloud database.
4. Network Requests and External Services
Domain Monitor contacts external services only as needed to perform features you request. Those services may receive ordinary connection information such as your public IP address, request time, requested domain or hostname, record type, and technical request details.
Google Public DNS
DNS, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, subdomain, and related checks may send a requested DNS name and record type to Google Public DNS using DNS over HTTPS.
Globalping
When you run a DNS propagation check, Domain Monitor sends the DNS record name, type, and expected value to Globalping so internet probes in different locations can perform the requested measurement.
RDAP, Registries, Registrars, and WHOIS Information
Registration and WHOIS-style inquiries may send a domain name or IP address to RDAP services, registries, registrars, or related registration-data providers. Returned information may be public, limited, or redacted by the applicable provider.
Websites and Certificate Servers
Website-status, SSL/TLS certificate, and live-preview features connect to the selected domain or web server. The destination can receive your public IP address and normal web request information. A website displayed in a preview remains subject to that website's own privacy practices.
Apple Services
Apple provides App Store purchases, StoreKit subscription verification, and optional CloudKit synchronization. Information processed directly by Apple is governed by Apple's privacy practices.
5. Subscription and Purchase Information
Domain Monitor offers a one-year auto-renewable subscription. Apple processes purchases, renewals, billing, payment authentication, refunds, and cancellation through the App Store. Nathan Burton does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.

- Price: The current localized price is shown in the app and in Apple's purchase confirmation.
- Renewal: The subscription renews automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings before renewal.
Domain Monitor receives transaction and entitlement information from Apple as needed to determine whether subscription access is active, expired, restored, refunded, or revoked.
6. Free and Subscription Access
Without an active subscription, one domain remains active. Other saved domains can remain visible but inactive. An active subscription unlocks all saved domains and subscription-only features, including CSV import and export. Expiration of a subscription does not automatically delete saved domains.
7. Support Communications
If you contact support, Nathan Burton may receive your name, email address, message, screenshots, diagnostic information, and any other information you choose to provide. Support information is used to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and improve Domain Monitor.
8. Information Not Sold or Used for Advertising
Nathan Burton does not sell or rent information from Domain Monitor and does not use app data for third-party advertising, behavioral advertising, or cross-app and cross-site tracking.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains until removed through the app, cleared by the user, or deleted with the app's local files. DNS history is limited by the app's configured history limit and may be cleared within Domain Monitor.
Data synchronized through iCloud may remain in the user's private CloudKit database and on other synchronized devices. External services contacted by the app may retain request logs according to their own policies.
10. Security
Domain Monitor uses encrypted HTTPS connections where supported, including DNS over HTTPS for its primary DNS-query functions. Local and iCloud information also relies on the security protections provided by the Apple device, operating system, Apple Account, and CloudKit. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Choices
- Delete domains, folders, and saved history within Domain Monitor.
- Leave iCloud Sync disabled or turn it off on a device.
- Avoid propagation, WHOIS/RDAP, website-preview, or other network features you do not wish to use.
- Manage or cancel the annual subscription through your Apple Account.
- Remove the app to delete its local app data from that device.
12. Children's Privacy
Domain Monitor is a technical domain-management utility and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly design the app to collect personal information directly from children under 13.
13. International Processing
Apple, DNS providers, registries, Globalping probes, websites, certificate services, and other network providers may operate in multiple countries. Information necessary to perform a requested network feature may be processed outside your state, province, or country.
14. Terms of Use
Use of Domain Monitor is subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement: Terms of Use (EULA).
15. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Domain Monitor's features, supported platforms, external services, subscription terms, data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest revision.
